Tourist Visa for Australians

Person who wishes to enter Chile for recreational, sporting, health, business purposes or other reasons, without immigration, residence or development of remunerated activity purposes.
What is the tourism visa?
It is a permit that enables Australians who require it to enter Chile as a tourist.
What do I need to do the procedure?
- Valid passport: Issued by the corresponding authority in Australia, whose validity is equal to or greater than the permit granted.
- Color photograph5×5 cm, passport size, with a white background, whose full face and front face are 3/4 of the photograph.
- Prove financial solvency that allows you to travel and finance your stay.
- Invitation letter authorized before a notary or hotel reservation.
- Reservation or return ticket to Australia or another country for which you have entry authorization.
Important:
- It is recommended not to purchase tickets until the approval of the tourism approval has been communicated to you by the SAC system.
- Compliance with the antecedents indicated above does not compromise the granting of the visa.

What is the validity?
Multiple tourism: Multiple entry and exits during the validity of the Tourism Visa. The maximum period is 90 days. It has a cost.
Multiple tourism 8 to 72 hours: Allows the traveler to enter Chile for up to 72 hours each entry, within a maximum period of 90 days. It has no cost.
Important information for passengers in transit
Any Australian national who enters Chile by plane for the purpose of transit to a third country is exempt from Consular Visa, as long as he or she does not go through entry immigration control and remains in the transit or boarding room of the air terminal, and Board your flight to a third country, within 8 hours of your arrival in Chile.
