Biography

Based in Santiago, Natalia leads the trade, investment and education activities of Australia's Victoria State Government in Latin America.

As an Australian-trained lawyer, Natalia worked for the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) at the Australian Embassy in Chile before joining the Victorian Government.

Prior to Austrade, she was a director of Southern Gateway, a consultancy firm providing commercial services and strategic advice to companies operating in the mining and energy industries in Chile.

In this role, Natalia successfully developed and led a series of high-profile activities to position Australia's expertise in the water sector in Latin America, supporting major Australian companies to enter Latin America, as well as developing Austrade initiatives. in the mining exploration, energy, agriculture and food sectors in Chile.

In this role, she worked with some of Chile's largest energy development companies providing strategic advice on community engagement and conflict resolution.

Previously, she worked with a boutique law firm advising some of Australia's leading mining, power generation and mining engineering technology and services (METS) companies now operating in both Chile and Latin America.

She studied a Bachelor of Laws at Bond University and was admitted as a solicitor in Queensland. She also has a Bachelor of Arts from Bond University and La Sorbonne.

She was president of the Sustainability Committee of the Chile-Australia Chamber of Commerce (Auscham) and is currently its Honorary Director.

Raised in the heart of Chilean Patagonia, Natalia is passionate about the outdoors. She is an enthusiastic kite surfer, mountain biker and equestrian.
