Biography

February 1972 he graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile on Industrial Civil Engineering. June 1972 he moved to Chuquicamata, hired by the Chuquicamata Copper Company as a Works Supervisor, in order to complete his thesis on Solar Radiation Furnace, carrying out two years of measurements of Direct Incident Radiation.
In July 1976 he was sent on secondment as Project Manager to San Francisco, United States. Upon his return to Chile in 1980 he voluntarily retired and joined Fluor Chile S.A. in the position of Project Manager, simultaneously acquires the majority stake in Envases Orlandini S.A.C.I.
In 1986 he was assigned to Fluor South Africa as Engineering Manager. Returning to Chile in 1989, he was hired by Celulosa de Pacífico (a subsidiary of CMPC) as Project Control Manager. Once that project was completed, he assumed the presidency of the board of directors of Envases Orlandini and created the company Consultores en Gestión de Proyectos.
In 1994 he took over as Vice President of Development in Barrick Chile S.A. until March 1999, including the Direction of the Pascua Project in its first phase, he participated in the mining treaty with Argentina.
He assumed the General Management of Envases Orlandini in a difficult financial condition and in 2008 achieved the Sofofa award for Corporate Social Responsibility in the SME company category, selling the company in excellent financial condition in 2010 to dedicate himself to private activities in the field of mining and research in the field of biotechnology till today.
